Facility Access

A face covering or mask must be worn properly (over nose and mouth) at all times in all indoor facilities. Face coverings/mask may be removed once on the pool deck and are not required on the tennis courts.

Towels

No towel services (bath or sweat) will be available at the Front Desk or the Fitness Desk – please plan to bring your own

Equipment Checkout

Front Desk

Items available:

  • Basketballs, tennis rackets and tennis balls, badminton rackets and birdies, ping pong paddles and balls

Items NOT available:

  • Volleyballs

Fitness Desk

Items available:

  • Resistance bands, jump ropes, lockers

Items NOT available:

  • Towels, weight belts, bar pads, foam rollers, porous equipment

Lockers

Locker Rooms

Select lockers will be available for RESERVATION ONLY. Lockers can be reserved for free at the Front Desk. You must provide your own lock. No daily use lockers will be available.

Fitness Center

Lockers will still be available for daily-use checkout in the Fitness Center and must be cleaned with provided EPA products after use.


Student Fitness Center Changes

Updated Policies

  • A face covering or mask must be worn properly (covering nose and mouth) at all times, including during exercise
  • Patrons must keep 6 feet away from others at all times
  • Patron must clean everything touched after use
  • No "working in" on sets
    • Patron must be done and clean the machine or equipment before someone else uses it
  • No spotting
    • Hammer Strength half racks (4 connected racks by dumbbells) can be suggested for use with safety bars in place of a spotter
  • No moving of benches

Cleaning

  • All participants must clean the equipment after use
  • Spray bottles with an EPA approved solution will be available at each piece of equipment
  • Paper towel dispensers have been installed in various locations to use for cleaning
  • Maintenance towels will not be at machines but will still be available at sanitation stations for use
  • Rec Sports staff will be on the floor to assist with cleaning

Cardio Loft

  • Limited equipment will be available to ensure proper physical distancing. Signs will be placed on machines to mark availability for that day.
  • Drinking fountains will not be available in the Cardio Loft

Weight Machines area

  • Some equipment has been removed (mainly plate-loaded assisted machines) to maintain physical distancing between machines
  • Drinking fountains will not be available in the Weight Machine area

Free Weight area

  • Some benches have been removed and remaining benches have taped out locations they must stay
  • Workout zones have been taped out and patrons are encouraged to use these spots to maintain a safe distance from others
  • Drinking fountains will not be available in the Free Weight area

Core/Stretching area

  • NO mats, BodyBars, or foam rollers will be available
  • You are welcome to bring your own mat

Student Aquatics Center Changes

  • Face coverings/masks must be worn when entering the locker rooms or building but can be removed once on the pool deck
  • All participants are to maintain a 6 foot distance from others
  • ID will be scanned at Tiki Hut like normal
  • All chairs are spaced out to maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet and must not be moved
  • Chairs will be cleaned by Aquatic Staff after use
  • Lap Pool lanes will be limited to 1 person per lane
  • Lap Pool swim equipment is available for use and will be sanitized appropriately
  • Tubes will NOT be available for use
  • There will be no guests or family hours at this time

In the case of a water emergency, the rescuing lifeguard will break the physical distancing barrier to perform a proper save. 


Basketball Court Changes

The courts will be open for limited (one-on-one), non-contact basketball and badminton starting September 14th. The following must be follow or access can be taken away. See the full ist of policies on the Basketball Courts page.

  • Face covering/masks must be worn properly (covering nose and mouth) at all times
    • Refer to "Exercising with a Face Covering/Mask" posters for education and guidance
  • The facility, including courts, close for a deep clean everyday from 1:00p-2:00p
  • All participants are to maintain a 6 foot distance from others
  • The maximum capacity for all courts is 16 patrons
    • A waiting list will be at the Front desk if the courts are full
  • Limited equipment will be available for check-out at the Front Desk
    • Available equipment includes basketballs, tennis rackets (no balls), ping pong paddles and balls, and badminton rackets and birdies
    • Patrons are welcome to bring their own items
  • No drinking fountains will be available in the courts
    • Automatic water bottle fillers are on near the front desk, by the racquetball courts, and in the front lounge area
  • Basketball
    • Each basketball hoop is limited to 2 people
    • Only shooting is allowed (no one-on-one or contact play)
    • 2 hoops each will be available on Courts 2-4
  • Badminton
    • 2 nets will be available on Court 1
    • 1 vs 1 play only

Racquetball Court Changes

2 courts will be open for limited (one-on-one), non-contact ping pong starting September 14th. The following must be follow or access can be taken away. See the full ist of policies on the Racquetball Court page.

  • Face covering/masks must be worn properly (covering nose and mouth) at all times
    • Refer to "Exercising with a Face Covering/Mask" posters for education and guidance
  • The facility, including courts, close for a deep clean everyday from 1:00p-2:00p
  • All participants are to maintain a 6 foot distance from others
  • The maximum capacity for each courts is 2 patrons
  • No spectating is allowed in the Racquetball Court hallway
    • Patrons waiting to play will need to remain outside of this area
  • Limited equipment will be available for check-out at the Front Desk
    • Available equipment includes basketballs, tennis rackets (no balls), ping pong paddles and balls, and badminton rackets and birdies
    • Patrons are welcome to bring their own items
  • No drinking fountains will be available in the courts
    • Automatic water bottle fillers are on near the front desk, by the racquetball courts, and in the front lounge area
  • Ping Pong
    • Each court is limited to 2 people
    • Only courts with a ping pong table can be used

Rec Sports Staff Safety

  • All Rec Sports staff will be wearing face coverings/masks at all times
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be used by all staff during cleaning, laundry, and other duties that require cross contact
  • Plexiglass barriers have been placed at all desks
  • Staff will maintain a distance of 6 feet or greater from all patrons and other staff
  • Only one staff will be at each desk at a time
  • Staff will complete symptom check before reporting for each shift
  • All staff will have completed a safe return to work training before returning to work
